It’s All About High Vamp Pumps in 2026

You know what I’m really excited about in 2026? High-vamp pumps. It’s where the vamp (the upper part of the shoe) extends further up the foot than you’d normally find on a flat or heel. I bought a pair of high-vamp pumps from Acne Studios back in September, and they’ve been my favorite shoes since. While at first, the unique shape reminded me a bit too much of Minnie Mouse, the extra coverage became something I look for while shopping for shoes during the winter season. The silhouette made frequent appearances in the Spring/Summer 2026 runway shows, too. The ones that stood out to me in particular were the ones from Versace. While Dario Vitale’s stint at the Italian label may have been short, it was certainly impactful. If I may speak freely, I think it was my favorite Versace collection ever…
The shoes worn down the runway might not even count as high-vamp pumps, to be honest. But the way Dario styled them—with high-vamp socks—makes them count as such in my books.
It’s not just Versace, of course. Toteme has also been an early adopter of the style. And while it featured similar silhouettes in previous shows, its Spring/Summer 2026 collection had the most robust collection of high-vamp shoes. Khaite, Jil Sander, and Pheobe Philo are all on the list of designers who popularized high-vamp pumps, too. And let us not forget the most recent Chanel show—both guests and models wore high-vamp pumps with Chanel’s signature dip-toes. It goes without saying that the speed demons at fast fashion brands like Mango and Madewell have already created their own iterations of the style, and can be shopped at far less daunting prices.
You either already felt the wave building up, or are about to see it at its highest peak, but rest assured these high-vamp pumps are about to be everywhere. Shop my favorites below so you can say you did it first.
