Spring Trends to Watch: Pussy Bow Blouses

There are few moments quite as joyful as when the first few sunny, warm days come through. I don’t know about you, but my entire personality goes into hibernation mode in the winter. But the moment I can retire my heavy wool coat and slip into a pair of pumps, my whole body buzzes with excitement. In place of my winter layers? The somewhat controversial pussy-bow blouses that have dominated the runways for the past two seasons. From Saint Laurent to Dior, Loewe, and Ralph Lauren, the message was clear: It’s time to add drama back into our spring outfits.

The name pussy bows can sound a little confusing. Essentially, they are big bows attached to a blouse or dress and tied around the neck. It has a bit of an ‘80s disco vibe, especially as Anthony Vaccarello envisions it for Saint Laurent, but can be softened for a more preppy look as well, as demonstrated by Ralph Lauren.

A quick run around Soho confirmed my suspicion: pussy bows have made it into stores in the new arrivals section already. I picked up a rather dramatic-looking one at Cos (pictured below) and wished I had a blazer with shoulder pads to wear over it. For my upcoming trip to Italy in the summer, though, I’d opt for a pussy-bow dress and a sun hat.

At $99, this structured blouse with bow-detail is an easy way to test out the trend for yourself.

The interest in big bows is no isolated phenomenon. As a society, we’re in the midst of romanticizing the Regency era, with shows like Bridgerton and adaptations of Wuthering Heights reigniting our fascination with soft, romantic girlhood narratives. With that renewed nostalgia, it’s only natural that the desire to dress the part has followed. You can see it in the way brands like Sandy Liang, loved for its sweet, childlike way of dressing, has risen in popularity lately as well.

The most recent runway shows confirmed that the style would continue to dominate in the cooler months as well. Both Celine and Loewe brought their own visions of the pussy bow to the masses just this past week, styled over large coats and disguised as an intricately tied scarf. Needless to say, this spring styling trend will certainly become a mainstay for all of 2026, so go ahead and get your hands on them below already.
