The Christian Dior Resort 2026 Collection Comes Straight Out of a Fairytale

I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Dior Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear collection. Sure, the location was beyond breathtaking, but it easily overshadowed the models walking in Maria Grazia Chiuri’s designs. More than the clothes themselves, I was staring at the well-lit Toji Temple-turned catwalk backdrop. I understand what she was trying to do and appreciate the cultural references to Japan, but it just did not hit for me.
But this—this Dior Resort 2026 collection—has my jaw completely on the floor. As I scrolled through the Vogue slideshow, I practically felt goosebumps with each look. The couture collection is written like a love letter to the designers hometown, Rome, making various artistic references throughout.
A city like Rome is rich with romance, and this collection brought that love to life. Every ensemble that swayed down the runway looked as though it came straight out of an enchanted fairytale. From the masquerade ball looks to the princess gowns, everything told a story—but not one of a damsel in distress. No, there’s a clear appreciation for the strong female lead here, which speaks true to Chirui’s life, who spent her career advocating for female artists. She is, after all, one of the few female designers in this world—and we love women making clothes for women.
Gold, white, burgundy, and metallic silver were the leading colors. All throughout, you see elegant, drapey silhouettes, ruched fabrics, and endless amounts of intricately stitched mesh floral patterns.
Whatever Roman fairtytale this is from, I want to be in it. The show closed with a woman in an armor-styled dress, like a true Roman warrior. Check out some of my favorite looks below.
