These Are The Best Gems at The RealReal Right Now
PC: Florré
I realized lately that I’ve been out of touch with my personal style. I spent so many years as a shopping writer, curating listicles for InStyle, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, and more, that I’ve watered down my own taste. All my shopping was done online, and I was far too lazy to return items despite not being the right fit.
But I want to change that. Only the items that deeply resonate with me are allowed in my closet from here on out, which means I’m going back to IRL shopping and vetting my selections personally. I figured, why not take you guys along on my shopping journeys, so you can see how certain items look on a person, rather than on a modeled image, perfected by a team of stylists, photographers, and editors.
From here on out, all of my shopping recommendations will come with a first-person review. My goal is to test everything before offering them up to you. A little ambitious, yes, but I want my shopping stories to be different from what I do in my day-to-day job. I want them to have a personal touch and an honest opinion. It’s easy for us to be persuaded by a perfectly styled photoshoot. But more often than not, things are never as good as they look online.
I’m starting this series off with TheRealReal! I know, not the most reliable store considering items are singular and constantly changing. But I just went into the Soho store two hours ago, writing this now, and publishing on the same day, so that if you act fast, you can still grab the pieces I reviewed. I picked out very spring-forward items that can carry you into summer. To no one’s surprise, there was a wide selection of Chanel ready-to-wear and shoes. I also spotted a MiuMiu jacket that I’ve been wanting for a long time. See below for all the best picks at TheRealReal right now!
I was surprised to find a Miu Miu jacket from a collection as recent as Pre-Fall 2025, but there it was. The tags were still on and it’s in great condition, so if this has been on your wishlist, I’d say make the jump!
Frankie Shop Mini Skirt, $147
I also found this mini skirt from Frankie Shop in gray. I happened to have the same one in black already, so you know I love it!
Miu Miu Wide Leg Pants, $765
I’ve been wanting low-rise, pj-esque pants like these forever. I’m so glad I tried these on at the store because they’re so much cuter IRL than on the mannequin pictured on TheRealReal’s website.
Things I’m tired of: plain white skirts. Things I want instead: white skirts with a bit of *flair*, just like this piece from Brunello Cucinelli. I loved how this hugged my hips and cascaded down my leg.
Okay, I don’t love how this looks with my jeans, but picture this top with a crisp cotton mid-rise skirt and some heeled black mules.
Needless to say, there were a ton of Chanel shoes, jackets, and tops, courtesy of the Blazy-Craze. It’s not my style, but if you’ve been wanting to get your hands on some Chanel shoes, now is the time.
I did try on more clothes, specifically Jean-Paul Gaultier and Celine dresses, but the latter had a massive hole on the side and the first was just too see-through to even photograph. Listed here are the ones I would have happily spent money on would I not be on a self-imposed shopping ban.
