What’s In My Packing List for Spain?
PC: @moya
In a little over a month, my best friend and I are going on our annual friendship trip. It’s a thing we started about five years ago when we first went to Bali together. Since then, we’ve done Paris and Lisbon, but had to skip a year due to personal and financial reasons. But alas, we are BACK with another girls trip, and this time our sights are set on Spain. These trips are practically sacred to us—we live on opposite sides of the earth so we don’t get to spend a ton of time with each other. However, these vacations bring out something magical within us, and we always come out of them as better people.
Anyway, sentimental intro aside, I’m excited to share my thought process as I plan what to pack for Spain. The exact destination is yet to be determined, but we’re thinking Malaga, Granada, Seville, or somewhere along the southern coast. While it will start to get cooler here in New York, Spain will continue to boast around 82 degrees in September. Rina (the bestie) and I are both summer girls, so it’s a perfect excuse to wear a cute dress, a sun hat, and some sandals once more.
And so my packing list for Spain will include just that: a new dress, some fun shades, and various cute tops and bottoms. Seeing that I’ve done a couple of these destination packing guides before (see here for Paris and Tokyo), I thought why not for Spain, too! I’ve been inspired to dress more “like myself” recently, which if I’m speaking truthfully, hadn’t been the case in a long time. I welcome this nostalgic feeling of love for self, for what I do, and where I’m at in life once more. I hope the pieces I curated for Spain reflect just that: Bianca in her best element.
Endless Summer Dresses
It’s hard to believe that I used to never wear dresses. It really took me moving out and stepping into my feminine era to enjoy the allure of a dress. Now, I simply can’t get enough of them. For Spain, I picked out a few short and long options, some fit for sight seeing and others for sunset sangrias.
Tops for Touring
I’m going to need an assortment of tops that look chic, feel breezy, and evoke that summer vacation feeling. I also need versatile pieces that can be styled in many ways or paired with a bikini to work as a cover up. Below are a few of the pieces I picked out, including a St. Agni cami, a short sleeved button down, and a nice bikini top.
Breezy Bottoms
I want to take a mix of skirts and pants along, seeing that the evenings may invite a little chill. I found this striking eyelet skirt from Madewell and a little lace number from J.Crew. I’m also eyeing the silk pants from Rohé, which I think will be perfect for nights in Spain.
Must-Have Accessories
The right accessories can make or break an outfit. I’ve been obsessed with my silk scarves lately, so I’m hoping to bring a number of those. Plus, the Kendall Jenner recommended Tom Ford sunnies and a nice pair of kitten heels are coming along as well.
