T-strap sandals are taking over flip-flops as the summer it-shoe to know. Nostalgia has been playing a large role in fashion lately. Trends are not unknown for their cyclical lifespans, but there’s something to be said about the sheer number of been-there, done-that silhouettes that are suddenly back in the spotlight again. Just in the shoe department, we’ve had ballerinas, jelly flats, and flip-flops hogging center stage the past few summers. And in 2026, the latest silhouette rising from the 2000’s graveyard is the T-Strap sandal.

I feel like that’s a natural progression, going from flip-flops to T-strap sandals. They’re both understated silhouettes that offer a relaxed yet sophisticated touch to your look. And while people love to claim that quiet luxury and minimalism are on their way out the door, I don’t believe they ever will. Minimalism isn’t necessarily a trend, but rather a form of expression where those who ascribe to it will do so for their entire lives. And the T-strap sandal, with its barely-there modern ease, fits right into the scene.

It’s not just T-strap sandals, but flat sandals in general that designers are throwing their updated spin on. Right on my home page, you’ll find the Alaïa Invisible Jelly Sandal highlighted as my wish list item of the month. The little pop of red on the clear sandal offers just the right amount of attention-grabbing while still looking discreet and tasteful.

I’m not one to jump on every trend just because it's viral. I pick and choose the styles I buy into, and the T-strap sandal is definitely one of them. Here are some of my favorite T-strap sandals to shop while we’re still in the thick of summer.

The Best T-Strap Sandals

If you just want a simple, black, and elegant T-strap sandal that doesn’t break the bank, I recommend this option from Bernardo. I love the white stitching around the sole, adding a tiny bit of texture to the minimal shoe.

I’m personally eyeing these fun sandals by Flòwze, a Tuscan-based family-owned shoe brand. The nylon cording and leather insoles feel ergonomic yet stylish. It’s a very Miu Miu-inspired sandal that I’m more than happy to add to my shoe closet.

For a more elevated shoe, try these Khaite Archer Sandals. It’s available in a flat version as well if you’re not looking for a heel.

$890

The Toteme T-strap nappa sandals are made entirely out of leather and come in four different colors. I personally love the pop of red this SKU provides and appreciate the adjustable buckle strap in the back.

$590

The double strap and knotted details on these T-strap sandals add a bit of visual flair without going overboard. They’re made out of synthetic materials, hence the more affordable price point, but are a great entry shoe if you’re not completely sold on the aesthetic yet.

$118

I adore the asymmetry of these Reformation flats. The strap portion leans out toward your ankle, making it look like a “T” written in script. It’s also lined with satin, giving it a bit of an unusual edge.

$198

It doesn’t feel right to have a story on T-strap sandals and not include the OG silhouette from Tory Burch. This option proves that once an icon, always an icon, making this a sound investment.
