Worth The Splurge Ep 3: Don’t Sleep on Tod’s or Etro This Summer
PC: Pinterest
We’re back with another Worth The Splurge episode, where I highlight some of the best fashion finds worthy of your investment. With so many beautiful bags, shoes, and ready-to-wear items out there, it can be hard to decipher which ones deserve your hard-earned coined. That’s why I gather some of the season’s best designer pieces to shop each quarter, so that we may all make more intentional shopping choices.
I found it a little harder to make my selections this week. As you may know, I gravitate toward the sleek and the minimal; It’s much easier to keep something in the closet for a lifetime if it doesn’t follow any ephemeral trends. That being said, I’ve been growing tired of seeing more of the same designs repeating themselves. I just haven’t been able to justify spending thousands on a super unique piece that may not see the light of day too often. So bare with me while I continue to highlight more slightly-less-than-quiet luxury pieces.
With spring in full swing and summer around the corner, I’m including a few skirts, dresses, and light outerwear in the listicle. You’ll also find some nautical-inspired pieces, like the roped version of Bottega Veneta’s Andiamo purse or canvas totes. Browse through this season’s Worth The Splurge items below, and I wish you a successful and smart shopping adventure.
Far too many people sleep on Tod’s. This east-to-west bag follows trends while adding its own unique elements to the mix.
$3,295
The asymmetrical cut and velvet floral stitching on this piece give it an edge over your average black skirt.
$2,950
If you like Chloé in this Chemena Kamali era, then you’ll love the bohemian flair of this Etro bag.
$2,190
When Loewe revealed this Madrid bag, I instantly fell in love. Spacious, beautiful, and unique, you won’t regret investing in this bag.
$5,600
I always adore Fendi’s ready-to-wear collections. This stunning dress is a prime example of the label’s superior craftsmanship and attention to detail.
$4,400
I have this bag in the smooth leather and clutch version, and can confidently say it was worth the investment.
$1,790
The Andiamo bag is cute, but this rope iteration is to die for. I hope to take it to a beautiful coastal village some day.
$4,150
You need a light coat for transitional seasons, like the one we’re currently in–I recommend this option from Ami Paris.
$1,760
This Stella McCartney bag takes inspiration from both Bottega and Alaïa, but you can get it for roughly half the price.
$2,050
I love anything and everything Max Mara puts out, so I may be biased when I say everything is worth the splurge here. That being said, this backless white dress currently takes the cake.
$1,790
I don’t believe this one really needs an explainer. YSL flats? It’s always going to be a yes.
$1,050
Loro Piana’s leatherwork is truly something to behold. If you don’t already have a canvas bag, I recommend going with this option.
$4,325
The cape-like back of this dress truly makes it stand out from the bunch. Other details, like the low cutouts on the sides, give it an extra feminine touch.
